St. Martinville Senior High School utilizes positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to manage behavior at our school. Our students are required to meet established school-wide behavioral expectations. These expectations have been agreed upon by the staff as an effective way to be proactive in managing behaviors.

these behaviors will be positively reinforced throughout the school for the remainder of your child’s high school career at St. Martinville Senior High School. Students are rewarded with ROAR Points and other incentives for meeting our expectations. Our PBIS Store is open each Thursday at lunch in the gym lobby, and students can come in and cash in their ROAR Points. PBIS Day is each Friday for students to utilize the rewards purchased from the PBIS store.

St. Martin Parish introduces Meals-to-You Program

St. Martin Parish School Board still wants to provide food and nutrition to our students even during this time while school is closed, so we’re announcing a new program that will deliver meals at your doorstep for free. This program is called Meals-to-You, and it is a partnership between our district, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Baylor University. Your child(ren) enrolled at any school in our District are eligible to participate in the program. Only enrolled students in St. Martin Parish School System are eligible.

The enrollment period is Friday, March 27, 2020 – Friday, April 3, 2020.

Special COVID-19 Blanket Employment Certificates for Minors to work in Louisiana

In response to the current COVID-19 event, pursuant to La. R.S. 23:184.1 the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) will begin issuing sixty (60) day blanket Employment Certificates for employers desiring to employ minors in the State of Louisiana. Employment Certificates issued due to this event shall expire sixty (60) days from the date of issuance. Upon expiration, employers will be required to obtain Employment Certificates as required pursuant to La. R.S. 23:181 et. seq.

Employers desiring to obtain an Employment Certificate pursuant to this memorandum must submit a completed and signed “Application to Employ Minors under 18” along with proof of age to laborprograms@lwc.la.gov. The application can be downloaded from the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s website or by copying and pasting the following web address into your web browser: http://www.laworks.net/Downloads/WFD/MinorApplicationToEmployForm.pdf. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Employers should allow three (3) days for processing.

When the application has been approved, the employer will be notified via email from the LWC Office of Workforce Development. The names of those minors who are approved to work pursuant to the Employment Certificate will also be attached to the email. As indicated, blanket Employment Certificates are effective for a maximum of sixty (60) days. Blanket Employment Certificates are not transferable. Certificates are required to be kept at the minor’s work location.

Due to COVID-19 our office is currently closed to visitors and working a modified schedule. Questions or assistance with sales tax accounts can be emailed to salestax@saintmartinschools.org. To file a return, we strongly encourage taxpayers to electronically file returns by utilizing the following sites; Parish E-file or Sales Tax Online. Taxpayers who need to drop off a return to our office, may utilize our drop box located in the back of the St. Martin Parish School Board Administration Building (600 Corporate door. Please ensure company name and account number are on all contents being placed in the drop box. DO NOT PUT CASH IN THE DROP BOX! Checks and money orders accepted.

Free Online Learning Sites

Parents, the term “summer slide” refers to students regressing or forgetting some information learned during the school year while out of school for the summer months. In an effort to reduce the opportunity for regression/slide due to the current school closures mandated by Governor Edwards, St. Martin Parish has provided a list of free online resources for parents to use with students. Students will not receive grades on the online practice work completed, but with the possibility of testing still taking place upon their return, it is important to keep students actively engaged in learning during this mandated closure. Virtual Tutor for EOC Courses

All high school students currently enrolled in EOC courses could continue to practice their coursework through Edgenuity Virtual Tutor courses. To access the courses, please email Ms. Kellie LeBlanc at kellie_leblanc@saintmartinschools.org.

Virtual Learning Program

Since we cannot have weekly testing at this time, all Virtual Learning students can stop working on their coursework until later notice or until school resumes.
